Laos is always a place where I feel the freedom of being able to mingle with the local folks without anyone noticing that I am a foreigner.

In Laos I have spent more time in rural villages and small towns than in any large towns like Vientiane and Luang Prabang.

Laos is gifted with rivers on which you can travel in a boat for hundreds of kilometers without hitting a man-made obstacle such as a dam. However that is going to change in near future due to some dams currently being built for multi purpose across few of beautiful rivers in the hills.

Lao language is very similar to north-eastern (E-sarn) Thai dialect. In fact these peoples are traditionally closely related to each other by blood relation and geographical continuity.

History tells us about past close relationship between today north-eastern Thailand and Laos. Even though today economic and development situations are different between two sides of the border they keep a kind of kinship among them.

Typical mix of adventure, cultural trip with a level of comfort and relaxation is by taking the rivers of Laos from north to south or in a loop circuit with stop overs at places where

general tourist interests and good facilities are available.
