Feedback

Feedback refers to any guidance, criticism or advice given to you by a member of staff, whether it is for assessed work or any other participation that is required for you to complete your postgraduate course.

You will receive feedback on your assignment via MOLE along with a marked copy of the 100 point scale, where applicable*.

*This does not apply to students on the EdD, where assessment is Pass or Fail.

You may wish to download your assignment/ dissertation and feedback so that you have a copy when your course is completed and you no longer have access to MOLE.

We view feedback not as a summative end point but as an ‘invitation to dialogue’ (Hyatt 2005, 2013) on your work and our evaluation of it. Please feel free to contact your supervisor to discuss any aspect of your feedback that you feel need clarification or further explanation.

The University has a ‘feedback portal’ which is designed to support your understanding and use of feedback. You can use the feedback record to log instances of feedback from your program of study and refer back to it in the future. The record, glossary and information pages will point you towards other forms of support that are available at the University of Sheffield to help you to transform your feedback into action. The portal can be found at: https://feedbackportal.shef.ac.uk/.
