Mariah Staelens - Production Manger
(Film and Entertainment)

I got my start in the Entertainment Industry as a Production Assistant when I was 20 years old on a show called Battleground. It was Hulu’s first original scripted comedy and was shot in Madison, WI. I’ve never laughed so hard in my life as I did working on that show. After Battleground, I worked my way up through multiple departments on many different projects until finding my passion as a Production Manager. Working in Reality TV took me to jobs around the country before landing me in Los Angeles where I transitioned into producing viewer driven live branded content at a company called Super Deluxe. There I was able to collaborate with Facebook and YouTube to create social media content for companies like Wendy’s, Slim Jim, and Tinder.

This industry has a unique and special way of creating a home for every type of personality. I could work my creative side as an Art Director on small Indi films and the next year find myself happily buried in excel budgets and timecards for 300+ size crews. If you’re analytical, creative, technological, artistic, introverted, extroverted, there is a job somewhere in this industry for you! (And I’ve probably tried it on for size at some point.)"
