Graduate Studies Council

Graduate Studies Council consists of the dean of the King Abdullah I School of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research as a chairman, deans of the schools offering graduate programs as members; and two external experienced and specialized members appointed by the president with the recommendation of the dean of King Abdullah I School of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.

Graduate Studies Council assumes the following tasks and powers:

  1. Discussing the curricula of graduate programs and recommending their approval by the Deans' Council.

  2. Recommending, to the Deans Council, criteria of admission of students in accordance with the standards set by Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions.

  3. Recommending, to the Deans Council, the number of graduate students to be admitted annually.

  4. Approving the admission of graduate students.

  5. Supervising and organizing teaching in the graduate programs and coordinating between the different schools.

  6. Organizing the examination procedures in the departments and supervising them.

  7. Approving of the examination results at the end of each semester.

  8. Recommending, to the Deans Council, granting the scientific degrees and certificates.
