EXTRACURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES &

SUMMER PROGRAMS

Eye to Eye @ Lab

Eye to Eye @ Lab is looking for more high school mentors!  Eye to Eye is a national nonprofit that pairs high school students with learning differences (e.g. ADHD, dyslexia, etc.) with middle school students with similar learning differences. Lab has partnered with 75 Morton in the West Village. The mentors and mentees meet once a week on Thursdays at 3:30 at 75 Morton to engage in art activities, bond, and learn to embrace and manage their learning differences. Eye to Eye publishes the curriculum, however the mentors conduct the lessons. Mentors gain leadership skills, self-confidence and self-advocacy skills, and mentees benefit tremendously by spending time with older students who themselves have learned to manage their learning differences. Sophomore Jack Weare, who is leading Lab's chapter, is looking for more high school mentors (ages 15 +) to join Lab's chapter.  You can visit Eye to Eye's website to learn more. If this is of interest to you, you can register for the program here.  Please reach out to Jack (jweare2025@nyclabschool.org) if you have any questions.
