HHS FIRST Robotics Team Ranked 19 out of 41 at 2026 FRC Buckeye Regional
The team ended 5-6-0 which is the highest they have scored and ranked in the past 5 years of competition. This years robot was complex and the team worked hard to perfect its design, control, and autonomous systems to be more competitive.
VEX Robot Teams competed at MCCTC Qualifier and Invitational Events:
Our students built, enhanced, and drove the 2026 VEX Season Hero Bot in two different local events. They qualified for semi-finals at both events. It was a great experience and we have plans for earlier robot development next season.
FRC Team won at Voltage Valley Vibe in the #1 Alliance:
Our students successfully collaborated with teams in Voltage Valley Vibe to get in the first alliance and then not long after win the tournament.
Supported the 2025 OH Wow! Silly Science Sunday event (Youngstown, Ohio): Students managed our Small Robot game area (stack blocks and shapes, gave robot toys to kids) and they drove kids around on our omnidirectional "Chair Bot".
Attended the 2025 Jen+Tonic Polo for STEM event (East Palestine, Ohio): Students and Mentors demonstrated our STEM technologies including Robots (Small to Large) and Drones (Racing and Regular). JRPF Fund provided a $845 donation.
The Fire/EMS Robot was delivered to the Howland Fire Department (HFD) on October 2nd, 2024.

What is the goal of the HHS Robotics Program?
Our main goal is to provide “STEM Learning in a Safe Environment”. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We investigate and understand many STEM areas (Computers, 3D Printing, and Robot Design, Coding, Assembly and Driving) with the intent of building Robots for FIRST® Robotics Competitions, VEX Robotics, "Drones in School", and demonstration Robots for both School and Public events.
The FIRST® Robotics Competition expands upon STEM experiences to include student leadership, being a team player, and functional skills to be a good competitor. All while exhibiting Gracious Professionalism to everyone involved.
FIRST® “For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology”.
We are using the materials from our previous four seasons to build our fifth year robot for the 2026 FIRST season and participating in local off-season events. Our sub-teams focus on specific tasks such as Robot Design, Coding, Assembly, Driving, and Marketing as well as Cross-Functional training as the season progresses.
New GAME for 2026 FRC Season launched on January 10th. Our regional event is on March 19th - 21st in Cleveland (Wolstein Center).
