Challenge yourself this week to a mindfulness scavenger hunt!

*Try this with a family member, siblings or even over FaceTime with a friend. After you have collected all your items discuss each object and why you chose it

What is the purpose of each of these items?

Something you can SEE

Something you can SMELL

Something you can HEAR

Something you can TASTE

Something you can FEEL

Anxiety is a strong emotion that everyone experiences. Understanding where anxiety comes from is the first step in learning to deal with it. School work, home, friends, the unknown are just a few examples of things that can cause anxiety.

Think about what happens to your body when you become anxious...

What are some ways you can help calm your body when you feel anxious?

We talk a lot about KINDNESS in guidance. This YouTube clip is a great reminder to be kind to one another, especially during times like these. Think of some ideas you can do to show kindness even when at home. Here are a few things I can think of...

Writing a thank you letter or email to someone

Leave a treat for the mailman (ask an adults permission)

Take your dog for a walk

Clean up trash in your neighborhood

Make a meal for a family member

Offer to do yard work for a neighbor

Take a look at the video to see how big of an impact these teachers had on their former students. Take a moment to let them know how grateful and appreciative you are of them! This can be as simple as an email!

Begin by taking a piece of paper and tracking each hand. Once you have traced both hands write a feeling word in each finger that you have experienced or felt recently. Then use different lines and shapes to fill in the rest of your hand. These lines and shapes may also help represent your emotions. Lastly, color in each hand using colors that also represent your emotions and feelings.

*Remember we are all different and feel things differently so your hand may not look like the picture to the left and that's okay!

Questions to think about during your mindful tracing....

What emotion are you feeling as you do this activity?

Where in your body do you feel that emotion?

Share your drawing with a family member or Ms. Pospychala!

Create a playlist for your life.

What songs did you remember listening to when you were little?

What were some of your favorite songs you listened to growing up? What are some of your favorite songs now?

How do they represent who you are? Write out your playlist of songs and design and album cover for your playlist.

Create the jar of AWESOME!

No matter how big your dreams are, it's important to celebrate small wins that move you closer to it!

Create the jar of awesome to keep track of and celebrate your successes and small wins.

Step 1: Find an empty jar or small container

Step 2: Create a label. You can use a small piece of paper and tape it to the jar.

Step 3: As you accomplish a goal or have a small win, write it down on a piece of paper and put it in the jar.

Tip: Every time you feel unmotivated or discourages, re-read the wins from your jar. It will help you keep going!
