Presenting Mrs. Simmons

I have been a National Board Certified Teacher with 38 years of teaching experience in public schools of this  local area.  I earned my undergraduate degree from Clemson University in Elementary/ Early Childhood Education.  I also have a Master’s Plus 30 hours and a title of “Master Science” teacher from USC Upstate.  At Converse,  I received my Gifted and Talented endorsement, and for the previous 25 years I've had the opportunity to teach gifted and talented children.  I am looking forward to teaching the Challenge Program  at Chandler Creek  and  Sue Cleveland for the  2023-2024 school year.

Greer is my hometown, and most of my extended family lives in  Greer.  I live with my husband, Tommy,  who recently retired.  I enjoy traveling to North Myrtle Beach, SC ,  playing with our cat, and researching  ancestry of our family.   Our youngest son, Patrick,  lives in Greer.   My oldest son, Thomas,  lives in Greenville.

I attended Chandler Creek when it was known as Greer Middle, and 2023-2024 will be my seventh year teaching in Greenville County.  Also, I am thankful that I have discovered the community of Piedmont. Sue Cleveland is a special place and this will be my fifth year there.  I have numerous nieces and nephews and my grand-nephew Duncan (above pic) is a student at Chandler Creek. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach in Greenville County at Chandler Creek and Sue Cleveland.  When I say,  "There's no place like home," I truly mean that because I am blessed to teach in Greenville County.

You will find me delivering meals to our kids from  "Greer Summer Lunch Buddies" during the summer. My nephew, Duncan, always helps us!

All of my brothers and sisters live in Greer! I am very thankful for that.  I have two sisters and 1 brother. I am on the right end with Mr. Simmons.
