Students

In this class you will complete a number of projects both on your own and in groups. Being an elective course, there will be no tests! 🎉 You will be graded based on your effort, your completion of the different assignments, your professionalism, and  your final product.

You're final grade for each 2-4 week project will be a combination of your group's work as well as your individual work and effort.

In this class there is no "wrong" or "right" answer. STEAM Lab is a place for you to think outside of the box and design creative solutions for the problems you are presented with. This will be a challenging course designed for you to try many fields that you probably have never studied before. You will make mistakes and that is ok! The goal is to identify what went wrong and come up with ways to improve.

What is a Typical STEAM Project?

STEAM projects will vary in content, but they will all follow the same steps to complete the final product. For each project, you will complete all graded work on your Think Template unless clearly stated in the prompt. You will have 2-3 weeks to complete each project with time guidelines to keep you on track. However, it is up to you to make sure that you complete the project by presentation day. Bellow are 3 examples of types of projects we will complete.

Introduction to Coding

You will learn basic coding skills by building themed games on multiple platforms.

Introduction to Architecture

You will use online software to design a micro apartment and furnish it.

Introduction to Engineering

You will design  numerous structures that are able to withstand  different conditions such as weight and wind.Â
