About Your Teacher

This will be my 12^th year of teaching! I have taught a wide range of grades from K5-5^th. I have a master’s degree in early childhood education from Lander University, specializing in Montessori education. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from USC Upstate with a minor in geology. I am originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan. I have lived in upstate SC for 20 years now, and love it here!

My husband, Harry, and I have been married for 17 wonderful years! I also have 2 precious sons, Lucas (14 years old) & Cole (9 years old). I have a sweet pooch, Carmen, who is 2 years old and full of energy! We also have a kitty named Blaze, a shy and affectionate feline.

My favorite things to do are camping and vacationing with my family. Nothing beats an adventure with quality family time! I collect pottery and hope to take a pottery class soon. I also enjoy reading, live theater, hiking, camping, swimming, stained glass composition, reading, and cooking. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching over the years as it’s very rewarding to see children grow and thrive!
