Feast
by Kim Coleman
You took my eyes
And brewed them into coffee
I couldn’t see
Just how blind you made me
You took my brain
And ate it like a parfait
I couldn’t think
But at least you had your soft drink
You took my heart
And ate it like a buffet
You had what you wanted
But I couldn’t feel anything that day
You took my bones
And gnawed on my soul
You took my lungs
And tore off my tongue
You say you did this for me
But why did you scare the life out of me?
Why did you make my blood boil?
Why did you let my sanity spoil?
When you tried taking my soul
For you to turn into a noodle bowl
But I bit back
And made myself whole
