A Desolate Symphony

by Lucca Dattilo

Some set up easels.

Some set up chairs.

Some simply sit back on the great green giant's hairs,

And as shadows stretch

and cool becomes cold,

They wonder if they could be so bold

to share this sacred treasure with another.

It is a perfect Scene,

and they are so very alone

Lonesome strangers watch the setting sun

wishing for another witness before it is done

Some wish for friends

Some wish for lovers

Some simply wish for any other

So lost in their heads, if only they knew,

that their thoughts within were not shared by a few,

for millions attend just as they do,

Silent symphony of love, longing, laughter, and the roaring blues.

Lonesome strangers watch the setting sun,

thinking …

''Yep, it's just Me and You''
