Group Meetings

Ruthledge Wilson Farm Field Trip

Friday, October 26th

We will be meeting parents at Ruthledge Wilson Farm at 8:45. Our Book at the Barn will begin at 9. We will have an hour to go around looking at the animals and to pay for our hayride and pumpkins. We will then go to the hayride and pumpkin patch together as a group.

Group activities are more memorable and joyous when shared with friends and family and are irreplaceable gems that provide a foundation for the development of the skills needed for an individual to become a healthy and well-rounded person.

Group play activities provide learning experiences for a child that teaches him:

* Kindness

* To resolve conflicts

* To build friendships

* To respect others

* To communicate her thoughts and feelings

* To understand how her input is essential to the successful outcome

of the group

* To develop more positive feelings about others

* To develop team -spirit

* To work collaboratively, share ideas and take on responsibilities for

the benefit of the entire team

* To learn and study others’ emotions and how they respond in

different situations

* To work in a productive way

* To share and take turns which builds and maintain healthy

relationships even in adulthood

* To foster healthy competition with others

* To be confident. A shy child won’t gain confidence if he is always on

his own without friends

* The more a child is around others the more his brain is being

stimulated as he is constantly exploring others and everything

around him

Group meetings give a parent a chance to talk with another parent about things that may be going on in their family. The two families can collaborate on each others experiences.
