Dirty Dozen: Foods

Directions:

• Review the Dirty Dozen Food List:

  • Apples, Strawberries, Grapes, Celery, Peaches, Spinach, Sweet bell peppers, Nectarines (imported), Cucumbers, Cherry tomatoes, Snap peas, Potatoes

• You and a partner will be responsible for looking up TWO foods on the Dirty Dozen List and identifying why they are on the list.

• You may include...

  • What pesticides specifically are used on the food

  • How many different types of pesticide are found on the food

  • The human health impacts

  • What characteristics about the food itself makes it susceptible to high levels of pesticides

  • Any interesting facts about the topic you find

• Each person in the group will research BOTH assigned foods and compare notes with the other

• You and your partner will present your findings to the class

• You and your partner should use google docs/google presentations to help you collaborate electronically

  • Share the google doc/presentation with me and I will display it when you present
