English 1

Welcome to English 1- be warned, I expect quite a bit more out of you this year! Many of these are tech options to help students and families track their assignments. Please remember, students also have their planner to do this. For those of you that had me in 8th grade, don't forget to change calendars!

Below you will find my calendar. You can click the link to add it to your calendar. It works for anyone with a Google Calendar (such as parents). There are reminders about due dates (you can find more information about the assignment on Google Classroom). Google calendar gives a good glimpse and is great for reminders.

Printables, Links, and ToolsStudents will also receive direct instruction over the topic. This is a reference for you as needed. More information is located on the Expectations and Procedures page. Below are the notes that highlight the changes for this year.

We will be using Google Classroom A LOT! This is where you can find details about assignments AND where you will turn in electronic assignments, such as essays. It will send you an email when I post assignments, though the timing isn't always great. Students MUST sign up for this or they will not be able to turn in many assignments.

• The easiest way to sign up is to do a Google search for Google Classroom (while logged in with your school account).
• There will be a small + in the upper right hand corner. You click that to add a class.
• I have "archived" the old classes, so you can delete those if needed.
