General Information
The links here are useful to all students and families, so they are not located under specific grades.
Contact
Email is the best method of contact for me, as I typically have students in my classroom all day. Often, your student is able to answer questions, or show you where to find the answers. I try to have everything accessible for families. However, don't hesitate to contact me! Though I use a variety of sites for students, I only respond to messages through my school email. I don't want to chance missing a message if I use a multitude of correspondence methods. So while we use a variety of tools, please use my email for direct communication purposes.

Google Classroom
You will also find information for Google Classroom under the page for your class. This will contain more detailed explanations of large assignments, as well as providing a location to "turn in" electronic assignments. It also offered a link to a Google Calendar specific to that class. That covers due dates, but does not take the place of a student planner.
Links!
These are tools you will need in class.
- Click here for the dictionary website you should use for definitions! These are user-friendly definitions, not the kind that no one understands!
- Click here for an online thesaurus! This offers synonyms and antonyms- great for word maps!
- Here is the link to my blog This contains explanations about classroom procedures and expectations, as well as tips for being a better reading/student. These are all things we speak about in class, but it's nice for families to "hear" it, too! Students will be engaging in some blog activities as well.
- Root words are everything! Here is a nifty cheat sheet!
Other sources and pages
Under my reading tools page, you will find a variety of tools to aid you in finding a book. You are encouraged to use these!
- We will also use a variety of online tools, such as polleverything.com, quizlet.com, and many others.
Printables :)
All of these handouts are available in the classroom, but you are welcome to print these generics from here.
- Click here to get a reading log (or get one from my classroom).Read 100 minutes; fill out a reading log; have a parent/guardian sign it; turn it in for 5 EXTRA CREDIT POINTS! They must total at least 100 minutes and be filled out entirely. You may only average 1 per week each month (though they can be done at any time during the month).
- Click Word Map to get a word map to do your vocabulary assignment. Don't forget the correct assignment title! You are welcome to do these on regular paper, as well.
- Click here for a yellow sheet. These are also available in class. You are expected to fill these out for missing work. You then give it to me. After I have signed it, you are expected to bring it back with a parent/guardian signature.
- Did you not get your work done within the time allotted? Do you think you have a compelling argument to still receive credit? Use this form.
- Are you dissatisfied with your credit? Would you like individual extra credit? Use this form.
