Off-Site Programs

CRHS has a variety of off-site programs available to Juniors and Seniors.

Fire Science I & II is available for juniors and seniors interested in a firefighting career. The first year students will learn basic firefighter skills needed in the State of Washington to become an entry-level firefighter. The second year students will complete advance firefighter training to further prepare them for the National Fire Fighter I Certification. In addition to firefighter certificate training, students will learn leadership skills and respond to emergencies with their assigned fire station. Classes meet for two periods a day at Cowlitz 2 Fire Station in Kelso. See Mrs. Wilson for more details regarding sign-up dates, fees and additional pre-requisites.

Health Science is available for juniors and seniors. The first semester students will get a general overview of a variety of health care careers. Students who continue on to semester two will have the opportunity to earn a Nursing Assistant Certificate of Completion. Classes meet for two periods a day at Workplace Wellness in Longview. Police Science is available for juniors and seniors. Students will receive an overview of the criminal justice system, law enforcement, community policing, criminal acts and their impacts on society, the U.S. Constitution, criminal codes and problem solving skills. Running Start at Lower Columbia College (LCC) is available for juniors and seniors. Students wishing to apply should speak with both Mrs. Wilson and the Running Start Advisors at LCC. Students will need to apply to LCC, pass the placement test and complete quarterly enrollment forms with both CRHS and LCC.
