College Entrance Testing

Each college and university have different entrance testing requirements. Check with your potential schools admissions department to make sure you are taking the right test.

The SAT and ACT are the main entrance exams for four-year colleges.

The PSAT is the practice test for the SAT. Students will begin to register for and take other postsecondary exams junior year, depending on which postsecondary path they choose, juniors may take other postsecondary exams as well.   • College Board also offers free, personalized SAT practice from Khan Academy at www.khanacademy.org/sat

Score Reports

  • You can send your test score report to 4 colleges for free. Select these schools when you register, even as a junior
  • Additional reports are $10 for SAT and ACT
  • Send scores to colleges even if you haven’t applied or are unsure. Admissions Offices will hold on to your them until you submit an application
