Kitscoty Intown Bussing
All Intown Bus Students must register annually whether they are eligible or not. Kitscoty Intown Bussing is only offered pending the availability of space on the rural buses in the Kitscoty area.
Payride bussing services may be available to students whose parents/guardians reside less than 1.0 km for grades K-6 or 2.0 km for grades 7-12 away from their designated school, or the school to which they have been directed to attend. In the Towns of Wainwright, Vermilion and Kitscoty Payride Bussing is referred to as Intown Bussing.
10 month payride bussing service shall commence the first instructional day in the school year, ending the last instructional day in June.
Annual fees may be calculated on the basis of cost recovery of operating costs from the previous year. Schools shall be notified of any fee changes for the upcoming year by June 15 of the current year.
Fees shall be payable at the time of registration.
Payment plans are available, and you can pay by cash, cheque, money order or we now have the option to pay online and e-transfer. See information at the bottom of the red column on the left for payment option details.
Students may opt into the program any time during the school year providing there is space available. Fees will be pro-rated for those new to the community only.
We do not have winter bussing only as space is limited, and we have to reserve a seat for your child on the bus.
Refunds for opting out will be made for 15 days after initial commencement of service. No refunds will be made after this time except for students moving out of the service area or leaving the school system. A written letter will be required from parent/guardian stating reason for cancellation of bussing service before refund will be granted.
If bus service is requested for two different addresses (i.e. home and caregiver’s) which will require the child to ride two different buses, there will be an additional fee as we would have to guarantee a seat for your child on both buses regardless of the frequency of use. (701.2AP.Exhibit 4 Intown Transportation to Caregiver). This also applies to eligible passengers.
Bussing privileges may be revoked for ineligible students if eligible students require bussing and space is an issue, as the Board is required to provide transportation to eligible students attending their designated schools. Refunds for the unused service will be provided if bussing is revoked for this reason.
