CLASS RULES

1. If you are not here when the late bell rings, you are late. You must have a pass to enter class after the bell to be excused. Unexcused lates will be counted and sent to the Vice Principal per school policy.

2. When the bell rings, you should be ready to start class by having your materials out and the board read. Have pencils sharpened before the bell rings. Points will be deducted if you are not ready or prepared.

3. Passes to the Bathroom are on an emergency basis only. (Same with any other passes.) You MUST have your planner to leave the classroom.

4. It is your responsibility to turn in your work on the day it is assigned. Work will not be accepted late.

5. Makeup Work -You are responsible to see Mrs. Selby upon your return to find out what you missed. The number of days that you were out is the time you have to make up that work unless it is the end of the marking period, then it is less. If you cut class, a zero will be given for the missed assignment.

6. NO FOOD or DRINKS in the classroom!

7. You are responsible for your work area. Do not leave trash or other items. If equipment is unplugged, missing, or damaged you must inform me immediately! Push in your chairs and return your books neatly to the shelf.

8. The internet is only for class assignments. No one is permitted to use the internet without

Mrs. Selby’s permission. Games, chat rooms, email, blogs, instant messenger, downloading, installing, etc are not permitted. Referrals will be completed for violations.

9. Fire drills-help close windows and quickly exit the room. Stay together and line up on the far right side of the basketball courts. You must be quiet and standing in a straight line so that you can be marked present.

10. No headphones, cell phones, or other electronic equipment in class. If seen in class, it will be taken and turned in to the Vice Principal according to school policy.

11. If you are caught or suspected of cheating on an assignment, you will receive a zero and a referral to the office, even if you let someone “borrow” your work. This also includes copying items off the internet. Your work must be in your own words!

12. All school rules must be followed.

13. Behavior-Remember, you already have my trust and respect. Don’t lose them. Also respect your peers and their belongings. Inappropriate language is not tolerated in the workplace or in class. Listen carefully. Raise hands. If you are not able to follow the basic rules of a classroom, the necessary action will be taken (Detention, contact of parent/guardian and guidance counselor, referral to office) Remember, you are responsible for your actions.
