6th Grade Band
6th Grade Band Overview
The 6th Grade Band rehearses daily in a full band setting at Auburn Middle School. Lessons are offered in the summer in small groups of homogeneous instruments. The students will continue to develop proficiency in the fundamentals of instrumental music, including posture, tone production, technique, balance, blend, and intonation.
The 6th Grade Band uses Standard of Excellence book 2 as the primary method book, and the students continue to perform core repertoire for young band. The band will perform concerts throughout the school year, and the students will have the opportunity to perform solos/small ensembles as the year progresses.
Standard of Excellence Book 2
The 6th Grade Band will use Standard of Excellence Book 1 and Book 2 for Concert Band. Available from Dietze or Schmitt music. Also available online. Make sure you order the book for the right instrument.
