Parents, you are welcome to check our "FOR STUDENTS" page to see your child's course information. This subpage is for copies of all correspondence to parents regarding the dance program. Informational letters, ticket information, apparel information, and important information is also sent to parents via email through the Infinite Campus/Parent Portal system. Parents/guardians, please make sure that your contact information is up-to-date in the school system so that you are receiving these messages.
In order to foster independence and life skills in our dance students, the students' Google Classroom pages are used and your child may but is not required to invite you to see this page. Your student knows how to access these pages and Google Classroom is where almost all assignments are posted and turned in. Grades on the parent portal are updated every 2-3 weeks for you to check on your student's progress. Please check regularly if you wish to be updated on your student's work completion and grade.
As always, if you have questions, please email Ms. Lamer at slamer@zps.org.
Parents/Guardians,
Our SUMMER DANCE APPAREL AND SHOE SALE will be held on Tuesday, August 8 from 12 PM - 7 PM in the dance studio at Zeeland East High School. You should sign-up for a time slot here to help us avoid getting too crowded all at once.
Please review the Zeeland Dance Dress Code and the Kicks Dancewear Sale Flyer with Prices. To attend the sale, help us manage crowds, and lower wait times, please sign up for a shopping time HERE. If your family is in financial need and would like to apply for scholarship assistance, you should complete our SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION (23-24). While we cannot guarantee a specific amount of assistance, we will do our best to assist families in need with used items, partially funded items, or fully funded items.
I am still in the process of updating our Zeeland Dance Website for the 20223-24 school year. However I do want to share the dates of our Winter Concert Performances & Rehearsals and Spring Concert Performances and Rehearsals for your family calendars. If your student is enrolled in Dance III, III R/A, IV, or Dance Ensemble, we also have a Student Choreography Performance on Saturday, January 13 at 2 PM that is required. Rehearsal for the student choreography show is after school from 3-6 PM on Friday, January 12.
In the meantime, please reach out to me via email at nclyde@zps.org if you have any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to a spectacular year! See you on Tuesday, August 8!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Nancy Clyde (she/her)
Zeeland Dance Director/Teacher
Performing Arts Department Chairperson

All dancers will need to turn in a parent signed policies and procedures from indicating that dancers and parents have read the class syllabus, dress code, attendance policy, and expectations. This is typically due the first week of school. This is REQUIRED TO PASS THE COURSE and to participate in performances.
Parents are encouraged to write your child's dance rehearsal and performance commitments on your family calendar. Dance I, II, III, III R/A and IV students will find their calendars linked to their syllabus. Ensemble students have been provided with separate calendar document via email and Google Classroom.
Parents are reminded that it is Dance Program Policy not to allow a student to sit out from class for reasons of illness/injury unless a doctor's note is provided. In addition, students who fail to bring proper dance wear or shoes, also will not be allowed to sit out. If you child is in school, he or she is expected to participate in dance class.
