Have you noticed how when people get together they often interact with their phones just as much as they talk to each other? In this dilemma we will explore this modern phenomenon.

Family Discussion

The photographer Eric Pickersgill was sitting in a cafe when he noticed a family and how they were interacting. The father and two children where engrossed by the content on their own phones and the mother was staring out the window looking alone and disconnected from the family. He then started a project called "Removed" where he took photos of everyday life and removed the devices from the images.

As a family, have a look at the images from the "Removed" series (more images can be found here). Have a discussion about the issues that are raised. Use these questions to help guide the discussion.
