Refinement Value Stream
Refinement focus
Let's delve into the diverse activities that comprise a refinement session.
While it's feasible to conduct all activities within a single session, there's merit in separating them into distinct sessions.
Each activity demands a unique mindset, fostering a varied exchange and handling differing volumes of information.
By segmenting into specialized refinement sessions, we mitigate context switching and alleviate stress.
Consider allocating a minimum of 2 hours per sprint for refinement. Additional, tailored sessions can be incorporated as needed.
Adapt the frequency of "backlog refinement" activities based on backlog maturity, allowing flexibility to increase or decrease their occurrence per sprint.
How to decide what to refine next ?
Here is where it can be different from a traditional approach. we will focus first in having a couple of sprint off "short term" work ready to sprint.
