Y12 Physics

Physics seeks to understand nature at its most fundamental level. Physicists – and students studying physics – attempt to discover and apply the general laws that govern force and motion, matter and energy, and space and time. The fundamental aims of physics in year 12 are expressed as a series of the following achievement standards;

  • AS91168 2.1 Carry out a practical physics investigation that leads to a non-linear mathematical relationship.
  • AS91169 2.2 Demonstrate understanding of physics relevant to a selected context.
  • AS91170 2.3 Demonstrate understanding of waves.
  • AS91172 2.5 Demonstrate understanding of atomic and nuclear physics.
  • AS91171 2.4 Demonstrate understanding of mechanics.
