News & Reminders

Half Term Break

There will be no school next Sunday and Monday (October 21st and 22nd) due to half term break. Classes will resume Tuesday, October 23rd.

Coffee and Conversation & the Launch of the Sheikh Zayed Future Leaders Award

SZPAB will be holding its monthly Coffee and Conversation Thursday, October 25th, followed by the anticipated launch of The Sheikh Zayed Future Leaders Award.

Every last Thursday of the month between 9am and 10am, we invite parents from across the school to join us for a cup of coffee, and to have an informal conversation about what’s happening around the school. It is an opportunity for you to ask questions, as well as share your thoughts and opinions about the great things happening here at school. It’s also a chance to speak to other parents and members of the community.

This month, following Coffee and Conversation, we will also be launching the Sheikh Zayed Future Leaders Award. In recognition of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his desire for the development of leadership qualities in our youth, we are presenting ‘The Sheikh Zayed Future Leaders Award’ considered to be the first award of its kind within the UAE. The award will develop leadership skills and personal qualities in all students, from KG to the end of Grade 12.

We look forward to seeing many of you next Thursday.

Notice from Admissions

The safety and wellbeing of SZPA students remains a top priority. We are currently verifying and updating our records including parents’ and emergency’s contacts. To ensure we have your most recent details, we ask you to take a few moments to complete the forms sent to you this week and return to your child’s classroom teacher.

If you have received an email from us because your child’s Emirates ID card registered in our system is expired or will be expiring soon, please do bring your child’s Emirates ID as soon as possible. The Emirates ID card must be read by a card-reader provided to SZPAB by ADEK, and therefore must be physically presented to the SZAPB Admissions Office.

Student Progress Meetings

Student Progress Meetings are coming up this month on October 30th and 31st. Your teacher will send home more information shortly.

News from the PE Department

Football Squad Selection

Well done to all the students who have been selected to represent the school this academic year. Letters will soon go out to parents outlining fixtures and how to purchase the school football kit. Training will take place until the end of the football calendar. We look forward to updating you soon on successful results.

SZPAB Ski Trip 2019

We are excited to announce that in February 2019, SZPAB will be holding its third annual ski trip. We will be returning to France, to a resort called Les Menuires, in the French Alps. Places will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis with limited spaces available to students who demonstrate an excellent attitude to learning. Students will also be expected to complete all the work missed at school during the visit to ensure their learning does not suffer. Year group assemblies will outline all details needed.

Manchester City Football Club Experience 2019

The PE Department is also pleased to announce an amazing opportunity to work with Premier League Champions Manchester City in 2018/2019. Manchester City will be working with SZPAB to launch a healthy lifestyles program and select students for the PAN ability tournament in conjunction with the Club World Championships. Mr Ian will be organizing a trip to Manchester itself to watch a Premier League game and experience life as an elite athlete working with Manchester City Academy representatives. Places will be limited. More information will follow in year group assemblies.

School Bags

Students are expected to have a school bag to bring their things to and from school. However, we do not accept trolley bags (bags with wheels). Trolley bags can clutter corridors, their wheels can leave markings on floors and they can be dangerous to take up and down staircases.
