Try This at Home
Lego Mania
There are many benefits of using Lego. Below are some of the methods you can try at home with your child:
- Letter-building - Create letters of the alphabet (or words) using Lego!
- Word recognition - Create sight words on them
- Story starters - Have your child create a story with characters and a setting. This will encourage your child to use their imagination and also work on their fine motor skills.
- Number-building - Can your children build numbers using bricks?
- Calculations - They could also be used for subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Counting and sorting - how many yellow blocks are there? How many ways can you sort? Can you explain how you sorted the blocks? E.g. by size or colour?
