Shuangyong Elementary School is a newly merged school. On August 1st, 2022 it officially merged. The two original schools were Yongchun Elementary School and YongJi Elementary School, located just a wall apart.Through the concerted effort of parents, teachers and students, Yongchun and Yongji were excellent schools focused on effective teaching and learning. The newly merged school Shaungyong, brought the past developments including the excellent teaching and learning approach with it to create continuous progress for parents, teachers and students. Shuangyong Elementary School currently has 116 teachers, 31 staff and 1600 total students, and teaches Pre-K to Grade 6.

The merging of these two schools is a part of Taipei City's urban development process focusing on the integration and utilization of municipal buildings and land under the education-oriented development program (EOD), a plan was devised for the first newly built model of merging two schools in Taipei City. The planning and construction were oriented towards emphasizing education and incorporated the EOD concept. Apart from the necessary educational facilities, plans also included parking lots, childcare services, community classrooms, open activity spaces, and lifelong learning areas for the elderly, allowing the newly merged Shuangyong Elementary School to become a new hub for community public services. 

Shuangyong Elementary School was officially inaugurated and commenced operations on August 1st, 2022. In the future, Shuangyong Elementary School will use resources from multiple sources and establish a school-based curriculum centered on 'international education'. It will cultivate core competencies in children such as 'mobility', 'character', 'thinking', and 'learning', combining interdisciplinary teaching. Through this approach, it will not only be a community learning and cultural center but will also become an excellent school with tremendous potential. 

Key Timeline: 

1. June 9, 2020: Formation of the core working group and the first meeting. 

2. May 17, 2021: Taipei City Education Review Committee approved the merger of Yongchun Elementary School and Yongji Elementary School. 

3. March 22, 2022: Taipei City Government approved the establishment of Shuangyong Elementary School.
