Participants that elect the apprenticeship route will work on-site at the YWCA under the supervision of the program manager.
The apprenticeship consists of 1600 hours of hands-on training. DOL allows us to give credit for 1200 hours of previous training.
Participants will be rotated through various departments that will help to build their skills as a CHW/Promotora.
In addition to hands-on training, they will be required to complete one educational course per week that they will select with the assistance of the program manager. Courses can be virtual or in-person as long as they align with DSHS and the funder's area of focus.
