Participants will be enrolled in a paid 16-week educational course, including clinical rotations. Tuition, materials, supplies, and a stipend will cover the participant's time throughout the program.
This pathway best suits experienced CHWs/Promotoras who want to expand their skill set to serve their clients better. Participants need to have current CHW/Promtora certifications to participate. Course offerings will vary by term but will focus on expanding the CHW/Promotora core competencies as defined by DSHS. Participants are paid for time in class and clinical rotations. In addition, YWCA will cover the cost of equipment, supplies, technology, and other needs as they arise based on the assessment of the program manager.
This pathway is best suited for CHWs/Promotoras with some training or experience that need to build additional skills or add to their resume. YWCA offers a Department of Labor registered apprenticeship program where participants can work alongside experienced professionals, take additional courses, and make connections. Participants will be employed under a contract status, allowing them to create a flexible schedule alongside their program manager. Pay for this program increases incrementally throughout the course.
