Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books on their reading level, read the books, and then take a comprehension test on the computer . Each book is worth a certain number of points based on its length and reading level. Students are rewarded for the points they earn in class and with Spirit Sticks in the Library.
Students in each grade level can also earn an AR t-shirt each year if they get the number of points needed at their grade level.

AR Spirit Sticks

Students can earn the following Spirit Stick:

5 points

10 points

25 points

50 points

75 points

100 points

Students earn AR shirts when they earn their grade level points:

Kindergarten- 10 points

First Grade- 25 points

Second Grade- 40 points

Third Grade- 50 points

Fourth Grade- 75 points

Fifth Grade- 100 points
