"It was that which empowered us to put on the first ever full weekend Whip-Ma in some fabulous locations included the De Grey Rooms. I still remember the excitement of booking that venue, but also the immense thrill when we discovered that we’d booked the legendary Scott Cupit to come and teach! It was a weekender beyond what we could ever have imagined. With the next elections, I stepped down as President but began a tradition (which kept going for a few years!) of ex-presidents running for Teaching Coordinator. That role crossed into my third and final year at York, and I began teaching myself as well as coordinating some fantastic teachers for our events, including Scott Cupit, Jenny Thomas, Sonia Ortega and Héctor Artal, and Bic & Simone Graham. One of my best friends Tabitha and I also started The Grand Old Troupe of York, and one of my best swing dance memories is still that very first performance at WMWMH 2017. "
