Open Door is a team of Mental Health Practitioners and Students Wellbeing Officers offering confidential support to students experiencing difficulties with their psychological and mental health. The Open Door homepage is here.
Open Door also has two members of staff based within the school. If there's something you're struggling with, please don't hesitate to get in contact with us. Whether you're an undergraduate, postgraduate taught or PhD student, we are here to help throughout your time in the school, from those first few days all the way to graduation.
Good mental health is a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community.

Hello, we're Leonie and Heather, the Student Wellbeing Officers for the Universty of York School for Business and Society. We're here to support you with any difficulties you may be experiencing - whether they’re personal, academic, financial, related to mental wellbeing, or any other circumstances affecting your university life. You’re also welcome to get in touch if you’d simply like some general wellbeing support or advice.

As well as support within the School, you can access help from the Student Hub. The Support and Advice team is the first point of contact for advice on a range of issues including financial support and money management, housing advice, academic progress issues and support for underrepresented student groups. You can self- refer to the Support and Advice team by completing the self-referral form on their webpage. A member of the team will contact you by email as soon as possible and if you are offered an appointment, this can be conducted by telephone or video call.
