Welcome to the Centre for Music Education and Human Flourishing
Based at the University of York (UK), our Centre brings together practice, research and social engagement in music education for the public good. We foster collaboration across disciplines, institutions and communities, shaping conversations in education, music, and culture. Through interdisciplinary research, knowledge exchange and community partnerships, we aim to inspire meaningful change and champion the role of music in supporting human flourishing.
Feel free to explore this website to find out more about who we are and what we are doing!
Also, please note that we have a symposium on Music, Mental Health, and Human Flourishing on Friday 26th June at University of York's Ron Cooke Hub (campus East) and online: all are welcome, please join us!
