Personal Life

Recent Updates

Currently, I am in the PhD program majoring in Practical Theology at Emmanuel College, the University of Toronto under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Pamela McCarroll.

Sports

It's almost impossible to explain myself without mentioning my passion for exercise.
I'm interested in โšฝsoccer and ๐Ÿ”ฅworkout, ๐Ÿ“table tennis, ๐Ÿ‘Ÿrunning, and I've recently start playing ๐ŸŽพtennis.

โšฝSoccer/Football
I'm a huge EPL(England Premiere League) fan, and I love Manchester United in particular.
While I was in college, I had a chance to go to an exchange student, and the reason why I chose England was because I wanted to see EPL to be honest.
Watching Manchester City's derby at Old Trafford, Manchester United's home stadium in 2020, will be a memory that will remain deeply in my life. (I'm even more happy that Manchester United won 2-0!)
I like not only watching soccer but also playing in person. My main position is a midfielder, and I am actively involved in both defense and offense.
I am currently active in the university soccer club, which is composed of students of the theology department at Yonsei University.

๐Ÿ”ฅWorkout / Fitness
I used to like sports, but I started working out in earnest in 2020.
No matter how busy I am, I'm trying to go to the gym more than three times a week, and I'm especially trying to build a healthy body.

Traveling and Interaction

I think going to a new neighborhood, country, or culture that you see for the first time helps you have multicultural thinking, although it may sound like an exaggeration.
I try to travel both domestically and abroad whenever I have a chance, which makes it advantageous to communicate and socialize with various races and languages even though I live in Korea.
The experience of living in Sheffield, England, in particular, in 2020, was a small experience of living abroad, as well as understanding Western culture and lifestyle and taking a lot of rest.
And whenever I go abroad, I always take pictures with a camera, and I think I can capture the history and atmosphere of each country and culture.

Music

๐ŸŽผ "How wonderful would it be if representatives from each country could play one instrument at a world summit and show an orchestra performance?"
This is what the pastor of the church who taught me the violin said.
I can play a variety of instruments, and I play the ๐ŸŽปviolin, ๐ŸŽธguitar, ๐Ÿฅdrums, and ๐ŸŽทsaxophone.
From elementary school to college, I continued to work with the orchestra as a violinist, and I have performed various masterpieces such as Beethoven's "Symphony of Destiny" and Schubert's "Unfinished Symphony."

๐ŸŽผ I can conduct an orchestra in particular, and Sasa, who taught me, is now a permanent conductor of the Gyeonggi-do Municipal Orchestra.
In fact, I led an orchestra of about 40 people and conducted music at a concert involving about 500 people.
The songs he played at the time were Mozart's "Eine Klein Nachtmusik," Schubert's "Unfinished Symphony" and Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons."

Film Making

Since I became the head of Yonsei University's promotional video team in 2019, I have been developing technical capabilities with great interest in video production and editing.
We are working on various videos including the official promotional video of Yonsei University.
The programs I usually use are Adobe's Premier Pro and Motion Effects.
I also worked as an intern at Wonderhibe, a famous advertising agency in Seoul from 2020 to 2021.

Yonsei University ๐Ÿฆ…

Yonsei University is the very first modern school established in Korea(Joseon Dynasty) in 1885.
Yonsei University was founded with the support and dedication of American missionaries, including Horace G. Underwood, and it is Korea's most prestigious school that has been operated so far with a Christian spirit.
In Korea, the acronym 'SKY' is often used to refer to Top University, of which S means Seoul National University and Y means Yonsei University.

As a member of the Yonsei family, I have put a lot of effort into going to Yonsei University, and I am very proud that I am studying at this school, and that I have studied.

In particular, the theology department at Yonsei University has existed since the establishment of Yonsei(Joseon Christian School), and the initial dean was Horace G. Underwood.
Yonsei University's theology department has led Korea's democratization movement, and it is a school that actively promoted "Minjung Theology," which has a global reputation.

Korean Army Service (Obligation)ย

Every Korean male has the obligation to get into the Korean Army.

I finished my obligation between 2022 and 2023, serving as Sergeant and Squad Leader of the Headquarters of xx' Maneuver Division which is located in Gangwon-do Province. My service is specialized in the field of finance and support.

For sure, it was not easy for me to endure the Amry life. However, I always tried to maintain my academic sense and ability during the service. One of my academic journal articles about baptism and NSSI was published during the period, which proves my devotion to academic fields.
