Family Engagement & Supports

Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA)

Burton's PTSA brings families, students and staff together in support of Burton High School. Our organization increases family involvement and provides community service and leadership opportunities for students. PTSA activities include fundraising, student advocacy, supporting the school's mission and promoting Burton High School within the San Francisco community. Involvement in the PTSA is also an opportunity for parents to connect, share information and support one another.

Burton Family Liaison

Under the direction of the Student, Family and Community Support Department, the Family Liaison supports and advocates for families by enlisting family engagement in student academic success; by working with families in identifying and achieving academic goals; by accessing support services; by developing training opportunities and facilitating positive family, school and SFUSD relationships and communication. The Family Liaison creates authentic and diverse involvement opportunities for all families to contribute to their school community. The Family Liaison works to enlist and engage culturally and linguistically diverse family groups in program activities with a primary focus on historically underrepresented communities.
