Behavioral Health & Wellness Services provide students with academic support, interventions to increase motivation, skill development to self-advocate and resolve conflicts appropriately, employment opportunities when needed, as well as individual and group supports regarding physical, reproductive, or mental health.

Wellness Center provides safe, supportive environments in the school where students can go discuss a variety of issues from depression, grief, self-esteem, family life and stress, to dating violence, sexual identity and gang involvement. The Wellness Programs provide culturally competent services in a confidential, nonjudgemental space staffed with professionals who are dedicated to improving the health, well-being and educational outcomes of all students. Through both on-campus programming and community-based partnerships, students receive coordinated health educations, assessment, counseling and other support services at no cost.
Target Participants: The Burton Wellness Program is open to all actively enrolled students. We provide a range of prevention and intervention services tailored to meet the needs of our diverse student population. We work closely with staff, students and their families to determine the right kind of supports and services that students would benefit from. All services offered through the Wellness Program are completely voluntary. We strive to ensure that every student who seeks support through Wellness is able to access appropriate services in a timely and consistent way.

SFDPH provides no cost medical services including primary care and confidential reproductive health services. SFDPH also provide no cost mental health services including individual and group counseling, truancy prevention services, linkage and referrals to substance abuse treatment, and other pertinent case management services for the students of Burton High School.
Target Participants: All students interested in accessing medical or mental health services at Burton High school. Students access services through self-referral or referral from school staff.

PACE's Integrated Student Supports provides services to Burton students in need to academic support, social and emotional skill development, assistance with self-advocacy or referrals for on-campus resources. The Integrated Student Supports team works closely with Burton's Wellness Center Department's Case Management Program and ensure that students are receiving the necessary support to succeed as both students and young adults. The families of students enrolled in the Case Management Program are also offered all services associated with the program.
Target Participants: All Burton High School students by referral.

TARC Case Manager provides case management service, educational advocacy, and linkage and referrals to our youth and their family. TARC works with youth in the EWI list, with truancy issues, and those that are referred to our program.
Target Participants: Participants can be self- referred, referred by counselors, or on the EWI list to receive TARC services.

RAMS is a private, non-profit mental health agency that is committed to advocating for and providing community based, culturally-competent, and consumer-guided comprehensive services, with an emphasis on serving Asian & Pacific Islander Americans. Confidential student services that include confidential on-site Mental Health and Substance Abuse Assessments, Individual ad Group Psychotherapy, Crisis Intervention/Consultation, Grief & Loss/Trauma Counseling, Referrals to community resources, and Consultation to school staff.
Target Participants: Services are targeted toward youth at risk or already involved in juvenile justice regardless of their school or court placement.

Niroga promotes equity in education through trauma-informed dynamic mindfulness classes that empower empathetic students, teachers, and communities. Dynamic Mindfulness can help students reach personal and academic goals by building stress resilience, physical well-being, and ability to manage emotions, with an increased ability to act rather than to react. At Burton, we are serving all 9th grade health students with 15 minute in-class Dynamic Mindfulness sessions, and an after school mat-based yoga and mindfulness class, open to all students and staff. We encourage students to customize the tools of Dynamic Mindfulness to best serve their needs.
Target Participants: Niroga’s trauma-informed dynamic mindfulness curriculum benefits all students who experience stress (that’s everyone!)

CYC offers services directed at responding to the complex set of issues the youth in the community face including acculturation, difficulties in school, economic hardship, substance abuse, and gang involvement. At Burton High School, CYC provides case management and individual & family therapy for youth and their families. Clinicians and case managers provide culturally sensitive with variety languages psycho-social assessments, therapy, and available resources to meet an individual's needs.

In Burton’s Wellness Center, 3rd Street Therapists provide emotional support, crisis support services, and long-term therapy to Burton HS students. 3rd Street Therapists aim to make contact with youth wherever they are; at the center, at their schools, and at a host of community events. In addition to individual and couples counseling services, 3rd Street offers a myriad of youth development programming which blends mental health support, health education, and social services. The 3rd Street Youth Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 1-5PM, offering family planning and counseling, STI & HIV testing, contraceptives, and physicals. In addition, 3rd Street also has a host of workforce development programs for youth ages 12-24 who are interested in working in the healthcare field.
Target Participants: Students who are struggling emotionally who may be in crisis, and desire support. Each therapist provides counseling services to 6- 10 students (12-20 total) and is also available to facilitate a weekly group of up to 8 students (16 total).

Mission Girls is a gender specific program that strives to empower young women to achieve academically and become agents of change in the community. Program facilitation and case management practices are framed around violence prevention and diversion, restorative justice, and harm reduction through a trauma informed lens. RAICES provides a safe space for girls to talk about issues that are creating challenges in their daily lives, school, home, and community.
Target Participants: Young women of color, ages 11-24.
