If we need support before or during testing, how can we signal for support?
Message Mrs. Fraser-Mcknight or reach out to any member of the leadership team. Be encouraged to navigate the testing resources on the testing site for all testing needs.
What should we do with students who are testing in small groups?
You will receive small group testing passes for students testing in small groups. For YA, the small group testing proctor will retrieve students from your classroom. For YCP, Mrs. Ward will retrieve students from your classroom.
What should I do if a student has screen resolution issues?
Confirm that Display settings are set to 1024 X 768 or higher and scaling/zoom is set to 100%. Keyboard shortcut to set resolution and scale to 100%. Ctrl + Shift + 0 or Ctrl + 0
What if a student chooses the wrong name during login process?
Double check their name is on test session. If it isn’t on session move to next troubleshooting tip.
If wrong Student B’s status is “Awaiting Student”, use arrows to back track and correct name.
If Student B’s status is “To Be Confirmed”, Proctor will have to select Student B and change action to “Do Not Confirm”. Then, instruct Student A to close browser and sign in again with correct name.
If Student B’s status is “Testing” but is only on question #1, proctor selects Student B and changes action to “Suspend”. Next, select Student B and change action “Test Again” which should return student to “Awaiting Student” status. Student A and B will need to close browser and sign in with the correct name.
If Student B’s status is “Testing” and beyond question #1, proctor selects Student B and changes action to “Terminate”. Instruct Student A and B to close browser and sign in again. Email Mrs. Fraser-McKnight for any tests you terminate.
What if a student closed or lost the MAP Growth testing window?
Read student’s status. If they show as “completed” they finished the test and are done. If not, move to next step.
If student’s status in “To Be Confirmed”, Proctor will need to select blue button to “Confirm” student. Once student is confirmed, you can select student and change action to “Do Not Confirm”. Then, instruct student to close browser and sign in again.
If student’s status is “Confirmed”, Proctor will have to select student and then change action to “Do Not Confirm”. Then, instruct student to close browser and sign in again.
If student’s status is “Testing”, Proctor will have to select student and then change action to “Suspend”. Next, select student and change action to “Test Again” which should return student to “Awaiting Student” status. Finally, instruct student to close browser and sign in again. Proctor will need to confirm they want student to “Resume Test”.
What if the students see white screens or spinning wheel?
Due to slow internet or connectivity issues
Students can select reset button on their MAP testing window to refresh it
What if students "kicked out or cannot continue in their MAP testing session?
Students must be in “Awaiting Student” status to sign in, so we first need to reset their status.
If the kicked-out student is in “Confirmed” status, select action “Do Not Confirm”. Then, instruct student to close browser and sign in again.
If the kicked-out student is in “Testing”, Proctor will have to select student and then change action to “Suspend”. Next, select student and change action to “Test Again” which should return student to “Awaiting Student” status. Finally, instruct student to close browser and sign in again. Proctor will need to confirm they want student to “Resume Test”.
If the kicked-out student is in “Paused” status, proctor can change select student and change action to “Resume”.
What is students are rapid guessing and get the “Slow Down” message?
During live test session, proctor screen will give you a “Rapid Guessing Alert” and tell you when student is paused.
After you discuss importance of taking your time, select student and change their action to “resume”. Students may be asked to enter pin to resume test, but it shows on your proctor screen as Proctor ID.
What is students didn't finish their test?
When proctor is ready to pause test session for the day, select the boxes next to the names of students that are still testing and then select action “Suspend”.
Proctor can then select “End Session” and “Save & Exit”
Test session will be available for you with same name, but different password the next time you open it. It is important you track who didn’t finish the test, since the system won’t keep information for you to resume tests later.
What if a student needs to resume an unfinished test?
Go to Saved Test Sessions and open the relevant session.
On login screen, all names will appear, so it’s important you only select students you KNOW did not finish the test.
Students sign in and wait for you to “Confirm”.
Proctor will need to confirm they want student to “Resume Test”. Be aware that box may say “Start Test” or “Test Again” if student completed the same test before.
