Read about the Basque artist Eduardo Chillida here
Read about one of his most famous sculptures Comb of the Wind here:
Fun Fact: The design of Comb of the Wind is such that when the wind blows, you can hear music through the sculptures, but the sea is so loud, no one can hear it!
Is this art? If so, how? If not, why not?
Las Fallas is a huge festival typically at the end of March in Valencia, Spain. It's best known for its political satire and HUGE FIREWORKS DISPLAY.
Also, they burn all the sculptures down at the end of Las Fallas in a huge bonfire.
What did you find cool? Interesting? Strange? Have you seen anything like it before?
PS: I've never been to this. It's a bucket list item for me.
I love rebellion.
Let me clarify -- I love the history of (to us) every day, ho-hum things that started as acts of rebellion.
Like flamenco.
Read a brief history here: https://www.britannica.com/art/flamenco
1. What did you find interesting about flamenco?
2. What did you think of the video?
Missing sports? Me too. So I'm been watching movies like Rookie of the Year and ESPN highlights. Which reminded me of jai alai!

You've probably seen the curved xistera before. Jai alai is an ancient Basque sport and is like a really intense racquetball, with helmets and a solid ball and the real possibility of getting a concussion.
Watch the video. Tell me what you think!

Spanish tortilla IS NOT THE SAME AS a Mexican tortilla.
Mexican tortillas are flat, made of corn or flour with a fat, usually lard.
Spanish tortilla are hearty meals in and of themselves with potatoes, eggs and onion.
My favorite way to eat one is with crusty baguette as a sandwich. See photos for examples from Spain. The whole tortilla is in Salamanca, the sandwich is Toledo.
One of my favorite Spanish recipes

PRO TIP -- if you do try it at home, be very careful when flipping it. It's definitely a skill to do well and cleanly! So watch out for oil, wear an apron and CLEAN UP THE KITCHEN!
If you do make one, let us know how it worked out!
