Sam Steiner is a screenwriter and playwright from Manchester, England. In addition to writing Lemons, he has written several other plays including A Table Tennis Play, You Stupid Darkness!, and Kanye the First. He aided in creating “Walrus Theatre”, a group made of four graduates of University of Warwick (other founding members include Ed Franklin, Beth Holmes, and Euan Kitson). The company was created after the four worked together on a production of Circle Mirror Transformation. In 2021, Sam Steiner was recognized as a “Star of Tomorrow” by screendaily.com for his stage and screenwriting work. In an interview, Steiner says that he doesn’t want to “write things that are purely thought experiments–” he wants to “write emotional experiences.”
