The Guidance Counsellor's role is to counsel and to guide, but not to make decisions for students. Students are encouraged to make use of various planning tools in order to make informed decisions about their pathways. Students must do their own research. Counsellors also provide referrals and liaison with community social service agencies when necessary. Counsellors do their best to help current and prospective students work toward achieving their personal and academic goals.

There will be NO Guidance Appointments this week as Counsellors work on Semester 2 Course Changes
Please submit your Course Changes Online (LINK HERE) and Guidance Counsellors will process in the order as they are received. Counsellors will confer with Gr 11 & Gr 12 students on a need to see basis in regards to Course Changes.
Course Changes for Semester 2 closes Monday February 9 at 2:30pm
FEBRUARY 9-13, 2026 - Current Grade 9 Students Course Selection
Counsellors will be taking appointments for Grade 9 students ONLY (email addresses ending in 29). Grade 9 course selections are due February 13, 2026.
FEBRUARY 16-20, 2026 - Current Grade 10 Students Course Selection
Appointments will open for Grade 10 students ONLY (email addresses ending in 28). Grade 10 course selections are due February 20, 2026.
FEBRUARY 23-27, 2026 - Current Grade 11 Students Course Selection
Appointments will open for Grade 11 students ONLY (email addresses ending in 27). Grade 11 course selections are due February 27, 2026.
Please note that guidance appointments are reserved for students only. Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to book appointments with guidance counsellors during scheduled Parent Teacher Interview evenings. We kindly encourage families to review the Guidance webpage and Course Selection information together at home, so students can come to their Guidance appointment prepared with any questions they may have.
Guidance appointments for all grade levels will resume on March 2, 2026.
Please come down to guidance at your designated appointment time. DO NOT WAIT TO BE CALLED DOWN. If your teacher requires proof of your appointment, please show them your booked appointment time on your Google Calendar. Once you arrive for you appointment, you must sign IN and OUT with the QR code. This will serve as your admit back to class.
Be sure that you have booked an appointment with your assigned counsellor. This is determined by your last name. Appointments booked with the wrong counsellor will be automatically DELETED.
