CAS Project

What is a CAS Project?

"It is a 'collaborative, well-considered series of sequential CAS experiences, engaging students in one or more of the CAS strands of creativity, activity, and service."

CAS Guide (2017), page 24, IBO

key points to remember

  • Words that should describe your CAS project include: significant, sustained, meaningful, important, ongoing, notable, well-planned, purposeful, committed.

  • The principal objective of the CAS project is to see Diploma students involved in sustained collaboration.

  • You are not required to initiate a CAS project, but your CAS project should clearly offer the opportunity to engage in all of the CAS stages (Investigation, Preparation, Action, Reflection, Demonstration)

  • Reflecting with others can introduce you to different perspectives and enable you to reflect on a deeper level.

  • CAS and the IB Diploma as a whole encourage students to become global citizens with an outlook on issues that affect the larger community.
