Over the Feb 4th weekend, the delegates of our very own STL Model UN chapter attended its most prestigious event of the season, the University of Toronto Model United Nations conference. With topics ranging from the Indigenous Advisory Committee of America to running Mount Olympus, our delegates were able to showcase their debate skills in committee and proudly represent our school. Congratulations to our President Daniela Valenzuela Neto and Secretary Hande Soran for their awards: Best Position Paper, and Honourable Mention respectively. The executive team and Mr. Saggese are proud of all the delegates that participated and are looking forward to the future our club has in store.
I want to take this opportunity to congratulate all participating STL Robotics teams for their outstanding showing at our first competition for the 2021-22 Vex Robotics season. Teams 82855"G", S, X and Z put forth an amazing effort on Saturday Jan 29th. The day was filled with many challenges: building, programming, iterating, technical challenges, coaching, mentoring and strategic planning. Through it all the STL Robotics emerge victorious!!
Team 82855"G" captured the championship title in their competition! Not only did team "G" win the competition, they were wonderful mentors and leaders throughout the competition for all our STL teams. Congrats on your first place showing!!!
All other teams (S, X and Z) made it to the qualifying matches. All three of these teams were competing in their first ever VEX VRC Competition, and represented STL Robotics with great pride! Team 82855"Z" received the STL highest score of the day with a score of 315! Not only did we take home a first place win, team "G" won the Excellence Award and team "X" won the Think Award!
