YRAA Winter Sports are Back at STL

After a long hiatus, our STL Athletics program is pleased to announce that all YRAA winter sports are back in action. Thanks to our amazing coaches and their dedication to our student athletes, we are one of the few schools in the entire 55 school York Region Athletic Association to offer every interschool sport to our community. These teams include Boys and Girls Varsity Hockey, Jr. and Sr. Boys Basketball, Jr. and Sr. Girls Volleyball, Ski and Snowboard, and we are excited to announce for the first time in over 15 years that we are participating in Varsity Co-ed Curling. The incredible passion of our students made tryouts extremely difficult for our coaches. Their enthusiasm to represent STL is perhaps greater than ever. An indication of this would be the Jr. Boys Basketball team that accepted a jaw dropping 150 boys to participate in the extensive tryout process. All teams are currently well into their seasons and we have had some amazing performances and results up to date. Our teams are well poised to compete for several Championships, and we are very excited to get back to playing. There is now a brief delay due to the most recent Provincial protocols, but all indications point towards a hopeful restart sometime in February.
