The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program helps focus your learning on a specific economic sector or industry in your Grade 11 & 12 years. You'll follow a set of courses, earn valuable industry certifications, and gain important skills on the job through co-op placements.
An SHSM will help you in your transition after graduation to apprenticeship training, college, university or the workplace.
This SHSM responds to a high level of student interest in the Arts & Culture sector and a wide range of in-school and community-based opportunities to identify and develop God-given gifts.
We have established relationships with many local leaders in the arts community – both individuals and organizations. We also have an association with some of the GTA’s most prominent and diverse leaders in the arts such as McMichael Art Gallery and Canada’s Wonderland.
A broad-based SHSM with a wide range of possible post-secondary pathways. The Business SHSM prepares students to enter sectors such as entrepreneurship, finance, accounting, retail, marketing, international business, economics, management and administration, or event planning
This focus on Justice, Community Safety, and Emergency Services prepares students for a broad range of apprenticeship, college, university, or entry-level workplace positions. Industry sectors include legal services, policing and private security services, the armed forces, and correctional services.
