The Arts and Culture SHSM program is designed to help students further develop their interests in the arts and explore the possibilities of pursuing it as a career. Many of our SHSM Arts and Culture graduates have developed a deeper understanding of this sector when enrolled into this program and have discovered many programs that they never thought would be an option as a career.

Some of the career pathways this programs include and not limited to are: Actor, Advertising Agent, Animator, Arts Management, Art Therapist, Artist, Architect, Dancer, Dramatic Arts Performer, Fashion Designer, Film, Event Planner, Graphic Designer, Journalist, Interior Designer,Modeling, Music Producer, Music Therapist, Special Effects Makeup Artist, Stage Manager, Technical Production, Writer, etc.

In the Arts and Culture major, students will take 8 credits in grade 11 and 12:
In the Arts and Culture major, students will take 8 credits in grade 11 and 12:
- 4 Arts and Culture major credits
- 1 English credit (Grade 11 or 12)
- 1 Science/Social Sciences or Business credit (Grade 11 or 12)
- 2 co-operative education credits to gain workplace experience that helps you refine, extend and practice your Arts and Culture knowledge and skills
Additionally, students will have opportunities for:

- Experiential learning, career exploration and reach-ahead activities in Arts and Culture program
- Certifications and training programs in arts and culture, including:
- 4 compulsory certifications: Standard First Aid, WHMIS (generic), CPR (Level C) with AED
- 3 additional certifications and/or training courses as specified in the sector-specific guide
