You can choose to cite manually or use a generator; however, in this guide, we will focus on using a generator as it is the more convenient method in today's world. If you wish to learn how to cite manually, please refer to websites such as Purdue Owl.
There are many citation-generating tools online (This can be found in your school library tools)! However, this guide will focus on one of the more popular options preferred by students, including ourselves, called Mybib.
It is important to note that, regardless of what tool you use, it is important to double-check the formatting!
IN-TEXT CITATIONS
In-text citations show where your information came from in brackets.
Example: ...there are 10937 apples in Arizona (In-text citation).
Each source needs to be in both an in-text citation and the final works cited/references page.
Where does it go?
Normally, at the end of the sentence, before the final punctuation.
Corner of a slide.
Directly under your image.
APA vs MLA
MLA: (Author's last name, page number) - if it's a book
(Author's last name) - if there is no page number
APA: (Author's last name, year)
However, if you're unsure, your generator would do this for you! Just ensure that you have selected the right style of citation.
HOW DO I USE MyBib?
