AP Courses

In Grades 9 and 10, students prepare for the senior-level AP exams by taking courses at the AP Prep level.  In Grades 11 and 12, students have the option of taking specific AP Courses.  

Upon successful completion of the Grade 12 AP Courses, students will have the option to write the corresponding AP Exams.

There are four grade 9 AP Prep Courses that are mandatory for all AP students.

AP Prep Science

Inquiry based learning opportunities allow for enriched extensions beyond the regular curriculum. Students will engage in exciting hands-on STEM activities that will challenge their minds. 

AP Prep Geography

AP Prep Math

Students will engage in enriched curriculum extensions that both explore and strengthen their problem solving abilities. While being given the opportunity to cultivate creative and abstract thinking strategies through a mathematical lens and participation in reach ahead experiences.  

AP Prep English

The Grade 9 English AP Prep program emphasizes analytic reading, writing, oral communication, and thinking skills. Students explore and respond to a variety of texts, including works by contemporary First Nations, Métis, and Inuit authors.


Through course activities and curriculum extensions, students  develop their critical and creative skills as readers and writers, speakers and listeners, and as consumers and creators of media.
