Final Reflection:
The work I am most proud of having done are the three vases. I had no idea I would do something like this or that the colors would be so vibrant.
I loved the experience with the three vases, I learned how to paint with sponges and I liked the final result, which is why it's my favorite. I was inspired by a student's work and I didn't expect the result I got, I really loved it.
I believe it's raku. I like the experience of leaving school and going to a different environment and working making raku is one of the best experiences. I like seeing the different shapes that other students make and the way they paint I think it's incredible because we use the same colors but it comes out different for each person simply because the person made a different design or a different shape when you put it in the kiln it comes in a different color and comes out all white and red and then we have to put it in water to find out the result. The final is definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had in a ceramics class.
My goal was to make a house or vases. I would really like to have more work on this during the semester but I also learned new things and made new projects. I managed to make the vases and I loved the experience. They are my favorite project in ceramics class.
Initial Ceramics Thoughts
What ceramics project are you the most proud of making in a past class? Why?
The speaker. I like it the most and I worked the hardest on it. It came out the way I wanted it to.
Artists find inspiration from many different places, experiences, beliefs, artists, etc. What activities, beliefs, causes, etc, are currently important to you and might currently influence YOU in your ceramic work? I like plants. I like things that are natural, such as the sky and the stars and the sun
As you move forward with your ceramics education, what skills and/or techniques do you hope to develop and/or strengthen?
I hope I get better at throwing on the wheel.
List one (or more) ceramic objects or processes you think would be very fun or interesting to make, see, or do this semester.
