I chose this photo because the ramp led directly down to the ocean. I thought this was really cool because not only were my lines leading into the photograph, they were clearly leading down to the dock and the water. I shot this at a few different heights, but I chose this one because it is more of a first person perspective so it makes the viewer feel like they are really in the photo.
I was walking in Boothbay, and as I walked across the bridge I thought it was a perfect example of leading lines. There is no clear end to the bridge which is interesting because the viewer can imagine where and how it ends. The archway over the middle of the bridge and the building on one side of it add a lot of cool complexity to the image.
I was driving home one evening with my friends and we came onto this long stretch of road. It was barely lit and dusk outside, so I wasn't sure if the photo would come out. It did, and the blurred motion in conjunction with the leading lines really plays into the driving effect. The leading lines make the road seem endless, and the fact that the street just goes off into the distance leaves the viewer wondering.
Purpose: To learn to see the world in a different way and to practice the composition strategy of leading lines.
